Two of the SOI industry’s leading technologists, Dr. Bich-Yen Nguyen and Dr. Mohamad Shaheen, have joined the Soitec R&D team as Fellows
Dr. Nguyen previously led the Crolles Alliance advanced transistor development activities at Freescale Semiconductor. During her tenure at Freescale, Dr. Nguyen received many illustrious awards and honors, including her appointment as a Motorola Dan Noble Fellow in 2001. She has invented and co-invented more than 55 issued patents and 11 pending patents, and authored more than 70 technical papers in various journals and proceedings.
Dr. Shaheen headed the advanced substrates technology group within the components research organization at Intel. During his 15-year tenure, he held various technical and managerial positions including managing the RP1 research fab, and co-development of Trigate devices. He holds more than 85 patents and patent filings in the area of advanced device materials and structures, and has received many awards from Intel for outstanding contributions, including an excellence award from the Technology and Manufacturing Group in 2005.
Both Dr. Nguyen and Dr. Shaheen will focus on the development of new applications and markets for Soitec’s core technologies, and support the Marketing, Sales and Customer Group.
